Hey, I’m Carly!

If we haven’t met before, I’m Carly Veness and it’s lovely to see you here! 👋🏻

A few work-related facts about me…
  • I’m a Speech Pathologist of 20+ years, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a deeply passionate feeding therapist.
  • I run a private practice, Babble & Munch Feeding Therapy, with a fantastic team supporting babies, children and their families with pediatric feeding disorder.
  • I LOVE to teach and mentor other therapists around the world through my Babble & Munch Learning programs (including this Masterclass!).
  • I also work as a casual/PRN neonatal therapist in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • I have a background and qualifications in infant mental health, which strongly influences all my work.
  • I used to work in research and I’ve published peer reviewed papers.
Behind-the-scenes, I am…
  • A self-professed lifelong-learning nerd (you should see my book piles!), feeding therapy geek, and secretly messy eater (how did that chocolate get in my hair?).

  • A wife and also a mother to a child who led me on my own intense medical learning journey in childhood gastrointestinal, allergy and oral function difficulties.

  • An Aussie….and yes, I do actually have kangaroos in my backyard! 🦘

I’m the founder of the Circles to Feeding™ Approach. Developing and supporting positive, trust-based relationships around feeding is at the centre of all I do.

I look forward to sharing more with you!

Love for our Work

"Carly does a great job of starting from the ground level and building a foundational framework to understand all pediatric feeding concerns…I feel empowered to understand how to make better decisions in my therapy and I feel empowered to know who/what to seek out for future learning opportunities.”

Andrea – SLP, USA

About our Paediatric Feeding Foundations Program

“This course has been life changing for me in terms of my confidence in feeding therapy. And just so practical - especially since I’ve started working for myself! Thank you again for being so passionate about feeding therapy and building a network of competent and enthusiastic practitioners.”

Christine – SLP, Australia

About our Paediatric Feeding Foundations Program

“I loved Carly's approach using the responsive feeding methods, and her infant mental health training really came through. This approach is much more in alignment with how I like to work with children but I have found lacking in some other courses I have done.”
