Definitely! The Paediatric Feeding Foundations Program is designed to take you through all the main areas you need to know to get started in providing feeding therapy to children with a range of feeding disorders and medical or developmental backgrounds.

We’ll not only share all the information you need to know in a comprehensive and practical format. We’ll also give you a framework to apply to all your clients so that you know what to do next. We also provide a whole stack of tools and resources for you to take back to your clinic.

This will be really helpful to you whether you’re a total beginner to feeding or you’ve been working with paediatric feeding for a while but want to take your processes to the next level!

The Infant course (IFFW) and this Paediatric (PFFP) course complement each other. There is a little overlap between the two, but you'll also find they focus on different areas.

The PFFP extends beyond the IFFW, to go deeper in paediatric feeding and the pathway you need to follow for your clients. The PFFP focuses on the 6 months+ to 12 years age band.

Compared to the IFFW, there will be more on body systems and medical conditions, diagnosing Paediatric Feeding Disorders, working with different types of feeding difficulties including feed aversions, integrating assessment results, writing assessment reports, setting goals, carrying out therapy, and resources you need for setting up a feeding clinic (among other things!).

There are a lot more templates and resources, and as it's a 30+ hour course there is more time to show you how to carry out assessment and treatment while providing examples, case studies, practical activities, with more interaction opportunities.

The course has 30+ hours of content, designed to meet your learning needs. You can go through the course one module per week during the course period, or at your own pace for and additional 12 months. There is the option to cover the material as quickly or slowly as you require, rewind and review.

In Australia, Speech Pathologists calculate their professional development hours without the need for registered continuing education credits. A certificate of completion will be provided for completing the course.

We are unfortunately not able to provide ASHA CEUs for this offering of the course (not available until 2025).  ASHA members will still receive a certificate of completion with the hours of participation.

To receive a course completion certificate, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• Watch all 15 modules
• Complete each Module quiz to 80% accuracy - you will be able to complete these more than once if required.
• Complete the self-assessment feeding competence tool at the start AND end of the course
• Complete the post-course assessment & feedback form.

Live Check-in/Q&A calls and recordings are optional components and do not count towards the certificate hours.

Handouts of all the course content/slides will be provided digitally in the course hub for download, along with additional workbooks, tools and templates.

You may watch with a colleague, however you must both be registered for the course. You can not watch with someone who has not registered for the course and has not signed the Course Access Agreement. If you watch with someone else registered in the course, you will need to make sure you each mark the course as complete in each section (through your own login) if you wish to receive a course completion certificate.
